Once the GK passes the ball out (a save doesn’t count), one pass must be completed before the team can pass back to the GK. If this rule is broken the opposition wins a free kick from that position. Hope that makes sense!

This finished 4-3 to the Reds in what was a close game decided by a few moments of individual brilliance!

The Reds got to a 4-2 lead thanks to two goals from John Mc Jr who had no right to score either.

The first goal he scored was from a tight angle past Ryan and past the goalie, he put it in the only place he could have scored, great goal.

The second goal was through Ryans legs and the GK had no chance. (Ryan did actually have a good game btw 🤣)

Ian scored a cracker with his right foot to make it 4-3 but it was too little too late.

Great win for the Reds well done! 🔴🔴

MARCH REPORT

The game definitely had that first game of the season intensity. Everyone was up for it and really wanted to get that first win on the board!

The Blues started really well, knocked the ball around as a team, defended well and scored some cracking goals. Joel and Tom (Jnr) worked tirelessly up from and were rewarded for their work with a few goals each.

The Reds found it difficult to find any rhythm and seemed to lack that pace up front.

A great goal from Ryan with 20 minutes to go seemed to put the game to bed with a big lead over the Reds. But the Reds decided to make a change and John Mc Jnr came out from goal and instantly made a difference. The Reds suddenly had pace up front and lots of space was created for Ian and John Mc Snr to work in. A few brilliant goals from John and a powerful finish from Ian meant the Reds were only a goal behind with 5 minutes to go.

The Blues just about hung on in what was an eventful end to the game. Almost a steal from the Reds but the Blues managed to get the 3 points in a 6-5 win. Roll on the next game!

But more importantly Al will play in his last ever game before he retires!

A really tight game all the way through befitting of Alan’s last game!

The Reds went 1-0 thanks to a great finish from Tony. The Reds continued to pile the pressure on the Blues and create chances after chance. Remarkably thanks to some last ditch defending and decent saves the Blues kept it at 1-0. The game should have been put of sight by the Reds.

The tide started to turn, especially when Ian and Balf switched positions. The Blues started creating more chances with Balf and Mike linking up well. Finally they took a few chances and took the lead.

The Reds were now on the back foot and having to sit deep and defend. The best moment in the game came when Ian played a long ball over the top from defence up to John who volleyed past a helpless goalie. What a goal, probably the best goal of the season!

The Reds still tried attacking but Al, Ian and Nathan were pretty solid all game and made it difficult.

In the end a moment of magic from Ian/John and a Balf hat trick was the difference in what was a fantastic comeback. Well done Blues 🔵

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 4 votes each Andy and Balf both get MOTM. Andy kept his side in it at 1-0 with several key saves which deflated the Reds. Balf worked hard up front and scored a quality hat trick to win the game for the Blues. Well done both 👏

Mart is now a two time champion finishing 4 points clear! 🏆🏆Only lost 1 game all season even despite being injured and having to play half the season as GK. Great playing well done Mart!

Well after 15 minutes this game was already proving too difficult for the Blues.

The Reds got off to a magic start with Bryan scoring a couple of brilliant poachers goals and took an early commanding lead of 4 goals.

The Reds kept up this relentless pressure for the whole of the first half and the Blues couldn’t get out of 2nd gear.

A tactical switch for the Blues meant they stopped the rot for a period of time but they were completely outplayed. Tony, Bryan and Ian were playing great football and linking together well. Ste, Nathan and Tom Snr all defended really well too.

The Blues didn’t click at all and in the end got hammered. Bryan deservedly got his hat trick, and Ian and Tony chipped in with a couple of goals.

And most surprisingly Ste managed to bang in 2 goals too! 😂

The Reds won by 6 goals in the end, blues were unfortunately poor all game. Well played Reds great game!

Game finished 2 all after a really good game. Blues went 2-0 up after 2 brilliant finishes from Tony who had an excellent game.

The Reds came back after a fantastic individual goal from Mike to reduce the deficit to 1 goal.

The equaliser came from Tom Mc who worked tirelessly all game, he blasted in from close range.

Overall the Blues were the better team and played the better football. But the spirit of the Reds kept them in the game and eventually they stole an equaliser.

MATCH REPORT

The Blues started off like a train and were well on top in the first half. The Reds struggled to defend, particularly facing the sun which was a massive problem.

Shots were not being blocked and saves were not happening. The Blues took advantage off the difficulties and peppered the Reds goal. They were 4-0 up after 20 minutes and it could have been more. Tony, Bennie and Balf were running riot and young Tom was making some amazing runs.

The Reds stopped the rot and started to play better and create some chances but the Blues were still the better team and built up a 5 goal lead.

The Reds decided to give it a real go in the 2nd half by switching a few players. They started to press higher up and started to get a few goals back.

With each goal came more and more confidence, and belief they could snatch a result. Dim and John Jr started to play much better and with only a few minutes on the clock they got a deserved equaliser to finish an incredible comeback.

Tony hit the post with only a few seconds left for the Blues which would have really been a kick in the teeth for the Reds.

But a draw was the result and a fantastic comeback by the Reds!

Tom Mc Jr and Tony both got 3 votes each and are joint MOTM. Tom scored some tenacious goals and defended well. Tony was was at the centre of all good things for his team and scored some cracking goals. Well played lads 💪

Another cracking match! It finished 4-3 to the Blues!

John Mc Jr scored the decisive goals to split the teams but it was the Blues defence which ultimately won the game. Ste and Adam were fantastic and gave the Reds no space and seemed to block everything!

There was the occasional chance that got through the defence, however Joel was there to make some crucial saves.

Not to say the Reds didn’t play well they did, they just came up against a strong team that just had the edge. Brilliant game, well done Reds! 🔴🔴

The main highlight was obviously the return of Al back with us and he played a solid first game!

It was a very tight game and it ended up 3-2 to the Blues. It stayed level for most of the game before young John scored to make it 2-1 to the Blues. Him and Ryan had a brilliant battle all game was up there with the best we’ve seen in the league well played both.

The Reds had their chances but some last ditch blocks and saves kept the Blue’s noses in front. Andy then scored to make it 3-1 with a long range collectors item, following up some really good play from John and Tom.

The Blues held onto thier 2 goal advantage until the last minute when the Reds reduced it to a 1 goal lead but it was too little late. Both teams played well in spells but the Blues just edge it! Well played Blues!

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 7 votes Andy is this weeks MOTM. Scored ultimately the winning goal and had a solid game in the middle of the park!

Only 2 points seperate Dim and John at the top, looks like its going to be a decent battle at the top this season, especially with Mart to come back!

Big gap of 7 points between 3rd and 4th place. Plenty of time for someone to put a run together and close the gap!
