MATCH REPORT

Really good game after a few weeks away from the pitch.

Both teams played some decent stuff but Elliot’s wondergoal was the defining moment in this match!

The Blues had built up a 2-1 lead half way through the game with some well worked goals. It was a tough match for both teams in the sun but the standard was really good. Both defences were excellent especially young Tom at the back for the Blues who was superb all game.

The big moment of brilliant in the game then decided the game. Elliot picked up a bouncing ball and flicked it over the defenders head and then bicycle kicked the ball into the top corner. Keeper had no chance, WHAT A GOAL. Definitely a contender for the best goal scored at Sunday Footy. Both teams applauded, absolute scenes.

At 3-1 the Blues were in control. The Reds to their credit kept going but they didn’t seem to click like the Blues. The Reds struggled to get past the Blues defense and goalkeeper. A few more goals for the Blues sealed the win with a consolation goal for the Reds.

Well deserved win for the Blues!

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 8 votes Elliot is the MOTM. He scored a special goal but his workrate and general play for first class. A superb game and another man of the match performance. Well played El!

TEAMS

MATCH REPORT

Good game which was decided by the contrast in the two teams finishing!

The Reds standout player was Elliot who’s pace and link up play with Bry and Toe were causing massive problems for the Blues. The Blues tried to contain the pace with Ryan having a great game in defence and Andy pulling off a few saves.

The pressure eventually told though with a few fortunate deflected goals going the Reds way and a few stunners from Elliot.

The Blues did have their chances to pull themselves back into the game but the strikers weren’t quite on top form which was needed against a good team.

With Ste and Alan commanding the back line it was really difficult for the Blues. The Reds build up a nice 4 goal lead going into the last 15 minutes and deservedly so. The Blues rolled the dice with Andy swapping with Tommy and managed to cut the gap to 2 goals. But it was too little too late.

Bryan, Tony and Elliot were much better up top than the Blues attack which was the difference. Well played Reds a 2 goal victory and the better team won. πŸ”΄πŸ”΄πŸ”΄πŸ”΄

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 11 votes it wasn’t even close this week. Elliot was by far and away the best player on the pitch with some outstanding goals to add to an industrious performance. Well played El! πŸ‘πŸ‘

TEAMS

MATCH REPORT

The Blues dominated this match with some excellent play, especially from the forwards causing all sorts of problems for the Reds.

The Reds tried to play more direct football for most of the game but they just didn’t have thier shooting boots on, a cause for much frustration. The Blues were also excellent in defence with Ryan, Alan and Mart playing really well.

The Blues however were much more clinical in thier approach. Tony was dictating play in the middle and the Reds really struggled to keep up with his pace. Throw Bry and Dim in the mix and the Blues constantly were a massive threat going forward. With goals from all the forwards they found themselves 4-1 up and cruising.

The Reds just didn’t click well this game however El scored an excellent consolation goal after nice build up.

This was a small glimpse of good play but the Blues were worthy winners and played so much better as a team.

5-2 victory for the Blues well played lads! πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 8 votes Tony was the standout player and gets MOTM. He was unplayable at times and made some good players for the Reds look silly at times. Excellent performance well done Tony πŸ‘

TEAMS

MATCH REPORT

What a thrilling last game of the season!

Bryan opened the scoring for the Blues up with a long range cracker that went straight into the top corner! The Blues were a bit stunned as they had created several early chances but failed to put them away.

This pattern of play went on for a while, the Reds created chance after chance and played some lovely football, but couldn’t find the back of the net. The Blues however were a lot more clinical and found themselves 4-1 up. A few mistakes from the Reds were punished by great finishing from Tony and Ian, however one of the goals took a wicked deflection which was unstoppable.

The Reds kept trying to play the same way, passing and moving, but the back 3 of Alan, Ste and Mart were pretty solid.

A few goals for both teams meant it was 5-3 with 15 minutes to go. A terrific cross field pass from Dim was superbly volleyed in from Elliot to make it 5-4 with 10 minutes remaining.

Balf had the best opportunity for the Reds to level it but was stretching to meet the ball and just couldnt finish off the move. The Blues held on with some good possession football and game management to seal a 5-4 win.

Could have gone either way but the Blues just edged it, great game lads worthy of a title decider! πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅

See you next season!

MATCH REPORT

Was good to play in a much better and closer game this week! A close game which ultimately was settled by the old boys!

It was a close game for a long while with not much between the teams. A big turning point in the game was when Adam was substituted for his son which opened the game up and left space for both teams.

John Mc scored surely one of the best goals of his long career with an absolute rocket into the top corner, definately the goal of the match! A goal from the young gun put the Blue’s noses in front then it was a case of seeing the game out from the Blue’s point of view. The Reds pushed hard but found themselves up against a solid defence which included Tommy who had a great game at the back, making several blocks and chance saving tackles.

The Reds could leave the game with their heads held high, they just came up against a great team performance from the Blues. Every Blue player played quality which earned them a great victory. Roll on next week!

MAN OF THE MATCH

A 3 way tie this week with John, Tommy and Andy receiving 4 votes each!

John scored a peach and created several chances for his team, a constant thorn to the Reds! Tommy was brilliant at the back and almost certainly stopped a few Reds goals, kept it simple too and used his experience. Andy made a few big saves at key moments in the game. Well played lads!

MATCH REPORT

To say this was a one sided affair is an understatement! The Reds got their tactics all wrong, their finishing was poor and defending was average at best. They didn’t really have anyone taking control in the centre and Blues took full advantage and had a field day!

The scoreline finished 9-1 to the Blues. The Blues were much more organised, finished thier chances with some decent goals and much more of a team. Well done Blues you put the Reds to the sword! πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅

Lets hope for a closer game next week! πŸ˜¬πŸ‘

MATCH REPORT

Great game by everyone after the lockdown, could have gone either way!

The Reds got off to the better start going 4-1 up, which included an unfortunate goal from the Blues point of view where Ryan had a long shot that hit the post and deflected in off the GK Mart. A nice assist from Ryan though! πŸ˜‰

The Blues made a valiant comeback with some really well worked goals, including some amazing finishes from Elliot and great build up play by Chappo. The Blues then found themselves 6-4 up and the momentum was well and truly on their side.

There was to be a sting in the tail though in the final 10 minutes. The Reds somehow stopped the rot of goals being conceded, Dim then helped himself to a few goals including the winner to see off a gutted Blues team who had worked so hard to get back into the game.

A draw was probably a fair result with the efforts from both teams but Dims bit of magic proved to be the difference. Well done Reds!

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 6 votes Dim is this weeks MOTM. He was the difference between the two sides with his brilliant finishing, especially at the business end of the game. He didn’t look as though lockdown had affected him at all with his good all round play. Fully deserved well done Dim!

MATCH REPORT

Great game for the Blues, frustrating as for the Red team!

Good football played from the Blues in the opening enchanges and they were rewarded with a few early goals. Mike being the main goalscorer up front.

The Blues also defended well with Nathan as centre back proving difficult for the Reds to get past. The Reds however did manage to create some several chances but Andy was pulling off some decent saves to keep them goaless, much to the annoyance of the attackers.

After more chances for both teams the Blues found themselves 5-0 and really started to enjoy their football, which included a few cheeky megs from Mike on Balf followed by Dim on Alan.

The Reds to their credit kept going and with 20 minutes left they finally opened their account with an unstoppable finish from El. Another quick goal from the Reds and they had a sniff of getting back into the game.

But the Blues had other ideas and upped it a gear and hit straight back to maintain their comfortable lead. The clock was against the Reds but with goals proving difficult for them you could see the fight slowly leaving the team.

It has to be said the Blues to a man all played fantastic. Well done Blues, thoroughly deserved πŸ‘ πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅

See you after hopefully the last lockdown! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ

MAN OF THE MATCH

With 13 votes Andy gets this weeks MOTM. Was just one of them rare games where he was on top form in between the sticks saving almost everything!

Remaining vote went to Mike with 1.

MATCH REPORT
This game was a similar pattern to recent games. A really tight opening half with plenty of chances for both sides. The Reds were playing some good football but couldn’t convert the chances.
The Blues however were hot in front of goal and began to take charge of the match. Bryan especially with 2 early goals to set the tone.
Eventually the Blues really started enjoying themselves and started scoring some fantastic goals. It was a goal of the season competition in this game alone. Elliot scored a rifle past Andy from a tight angle which was outrageous. But the pick of the bunch had to be Dims cheeky chip over the goalie which brought applause from both teams.
The Blues were in fine form now and were playing some brilliant football with smiles on their faces. The Reds shoulders began to drop as they got a good hiding and were being totally outplayed.
A convincing win for the Blues well played lads! πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅πŸ”΅
